Getting Around Locally

There are walks direct from Millinder House with maps and suggested routes.  If you need some advice Simon will be happy to suggest walks that are suitable for your group.   To go a bit further without the car you could:

Take the train from Castleton Moor

The local station has up to four trains each day going towards Whitby and towards Middlesbrough.  Better still, it connects up with the North Yorkshire Moors Railway which goes down to Pickering.  The trip through the Esk Valley is worth taking just for itself.

Take the Moorsbus

There is a network of buses which operate on Sundays and Bank Holidays throughout the North York Moors National Park.  They will pick up and drop off anywhere on their route, so you could walk up to the main road at the top of our hill and catch the bus from there.
